Often, when people think about how the voice works, the first thought is about the “voice box” in the throat (the larynx that houses the vocal folds). While this is a crucial part of the voicing process, the whole body plays a role in healthy vocal production. Yes, that even includes the feet.
In fact, in my humble opinion, how you are balancing on your feet in standing is THE crucial foundation to healthy vocal production for speaking (and singing. and feeling grounded.) when standing up.
Why? Because how you are balancing on your feet impacts how efficiently you can breathe, and breath is the power source for the voice. Watch this video to find out more (and get guided through some quick exercises to help you experience the power of the feet!!).
